Set up your first trade tasting event in minutes. Here's how it works, step by step.
Step 1
Create Your Account
Sign up at sommscope.io or download the SommScope app. Select "Distributor" as your role during registration. Your account will be reviewed and approved by our team.
Step 2
Set Up Your First Event
Create your trade tasting event from the mobile app or the web dashboard. Add your event name, date, time, location, and description. Choose which optional demographic fields to collect from attendees. SommScope generates a unique access code automatically.
Step 3
Add Your Wineries and Wines
Add each participating winery with their table number. Under each winery, add individual wines with vintage, varietal, retail price, and quantity discount pricing. This builds the catalog buyers will browse during the event.
Step 4
Share Your Event
Share the access code with buyers so they can join your event in the app. Generate a QR code for printed materials, table signage, or email invitations. Buyers scan and go straight to your event.
Step 5
Run Your Event
Buyers join with the access code, browse wineries, and record their scores, tasting notes, and sample requests through the app — all in real time. You don't need to manage anything during the event. SommScope captures everything automatically.
Step 6
Review Your Analytics
After the event, log in to the SommScope analytics dashboard on desktop. See which wines scored highest, which buyers were most engaged, explore behavioral insights like dwell time and comparison patterns, and review every sample and quote request. Export reports as CSV or PDF.

Download the App
Get SommScope from the App Store or Google Play. It's completely free — no subscription, no payment, no catch.
Step 2
Create Your Account
Sign up with your email or Apple ID. Optionally fill in your professional profile — organization, position, years of experience — to help distributors understand their audience. Never required.
Step 3
Join an Event
Enter the access code from your distributor on the home screen, or scan the event QR code. The event is added to your "My Events" list for quick access anytime.
Step 4
Browse and Taste
Navigate the event by winery and table number. Score each wine on a 1–5 scale, record structural analysis, select flavor tags, and write tasting notes. Use voice notes for hands-free recording — SommScope transcribes them automatically with AI.
Step 5
Shortlist and Request
Tap the action bar to shortlist your favorites, request samples, or request quotes. All your requests are compiled automatically and ready to send to the distributor.
Step 6
Generate Your Report
Generate a professional Buyer's Report PDF with all your scores, notes, and requests organized by winery. Share it via email or save it for your records. Your complete tasting history is saved across every event you attend.

Is SommScope really free for buyers?
Yes, completely free. Buyers never pay anything to use SommScope. You get the full tasting experience — scoring, notes, voice memos, shortlisting, sample requests, and professional PDF reports — at no cost.
How much does it cost for distributors?
Your first event includes free Pro analytics as part of our early adopter program. After that, full analytics access is $499 per event, with bundle discounts available: 3 events for $1,199 (save 20%) or 5 events for $1,799 (save 28%). The basic digital tasting experience is always free for up to 2 events per year.
Do I need internet during the event?
The app works offline for voice notes and tasting. Data syncs automatically when you reconnect. Buyers can record scores, notes, and voice memos without an internet connection.
Can I use SommScope on desktop?
Buyers use the mobile app (iOS, Android). Distributors access the full analytics dashboard on desktop and can set up events from both the mobile app and the web dashboard.
